Creation Entertainment, the people behind The Official Twilight Conventions, sent us an email about more cities being added to the 2010 tour.

Paul Wesley on the Twilight comparison

Both of them are in love with a mortal teenage girl and both of them are vampires. Paul Wesley, star of CW’s The Vampire Diaries, knows that there is going to be an inevitable comparison between his show and the Twilight Saga. But according to the actor, each bloodsucking saga are their own “beasts”.

“It’s sort of inevitable, because the characters are so similar. But I guess I haven’t been getting it that bad, because I’ve been stuck here in my own little world shooting, and I’m not exposed to it a ton,” he told MTV News about the comparisons. “I don’t really have any defense, because I don’t know anything about Edward Cullen.”

“I don’t really have a series of things that make me different from Edward Cullen, but it’s just sort of inevitable. [Robert Pattinson is] playing a vampire, I’m playing a vampire. We’re both in love with a girl who’s a human, and ['Twilight'] takes place in high school [too], and it’s like, ‘OK, I totally get it,’ ” he said. “I just think there’s going to be obvious differences and obvious similarities, and it’s all good.”

Rob Movies??

For months, Robert Pattinson has been rumored to star in two movie projects, namely The Dune Remake (to be directed by Peter Berg) and Bel Ami, the adaptation of a novel by Guy de Maupaussant. But now, rumor has it that Rob will be out of either one of the two projects.

Rob has mentioned in the past that he is doing Bel Ami but the actor never mentioned that he is interested in doing the Dune Remake. His stop at director Peter Berg’s house before heading off to New York during the summer has speculated such rumors that he will be. For now, there is no word yet on which project Rob will prefer doing. But if we are going to based it on Rob’s previews interview, Bel Ami is most likely going to happen.

Harvard does a spoof of Twilight? Whoa!

Harvard University’s humor and satire magazine, The Harvard Lampoon, has a spoof of the Twilight saga with their new book coming out entitled, Nightlight: A Parody. The book parodies the first book, Twilight and will be released on November 3. The book is already available for pre-order in Amazon and here is its official description:

About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.

And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight.

So what was it like filming the Nightmare on Elm Street remake?

Freddie scared me growing up. I watched a lot of horror movies with my dad and my brother. There’s something about Freddie Kruger attacking you in your sleep that terrified me. I mean, that’s probably why I only get four hours of sleep a night, I hardly dream. And having the chance to be a part of this movie, and it’s a psychological thriller versus some bloodbath, I’m blessed. I’m the guy that you want to root for in this because he’s a good guy having these problems because he can’t sleep, and he sees Freddie when he sleeps, so he just stays up.

CAM Interview!

Before Twilight, Cam Gigandet has mostly appeared in recurring roles on TV and on some small-budgeted movies. But that all changed when he was cast in last year’s Twilight, where he played the bad vamp James opposite Robert Pattinson. According to the actor, Twilight has opened new doors for him in Hollywood.

I imagine since being part of Twilight you’ve been able to make a lot more choices in terms of the roles you take.
Yeah, that’s opened up so many doors, and I’m so grateful for what that movie’s done. It was really kind of a special little slice of life that brought me where I am today. Thankfully I got to do other things.

Do you feel somewhat grateful that you were there for the first one only? Robert Pattinson’s life is never going to be the same. You don’t have to be chased down the street by screaming girls or anything.
Yeah, exactly. We talked about this before we even started the movie, and that was one of the big selling points. Me, myself, I wasn’t interested in doing that for the rest of my life. It was kind of the perfect balance for that movie.

Cam is currently starring with Dannis Quaid in the thriller, Pandorum.

To play a man who is able to fall in love with an alien an awesome, extraordinarily sympathetic alien, but an invading species nonetheless, takes a certain amount of empathy and restraint that were sure Brandon could pull it off. And without all the softening hues of Bryan Singer’s superhero story, Brandon would look good rugged and dirty. And let’s not forget about those gorgeous blue eyes!

The Twilight Scene it board game is due to hit stores in October. The Twilight Examiner has an article talking about how the game will also be making its way to the Wii gaming system and Nintendo DS. According to the press release:

Entertainment Tonight received the following statement from a rep at Summit Entertainment:

“Actor Jackson Rathbone of the ‘Twilight Saga’ movies, was slightly injured yesterday during a fight scene rehearsal. As a precaution, he was driven to the hospital and checked out by a doctor. He’s fine and is back at work on the set of ‘Eclipse’ today.”

So don’t worry guys he’s OK! Those fight scene rehearsals must be some intense stuff!!

ROBSTEN on set of ECLIPSE at Port Moody, BC

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted on-set at Port Moddy, British Columbia, where they were seen filming a couple of scenes for Eclipse. Rob and Kristen were seen driving around in Edward’s brand new Black Volvo. Security was tightened in the area as guards were waiving black umbrellas to deter photographers.

PARAMORE REMINISCES ABOUT TWILIGHT

They were one of the keys to the success of Twilight last year, with their song “Decode” proving to be a chart – topping success at the music charts. Now in a new interview with the BBC, Paramore looks back at their Twilight experience.

“I don’t think we had any idea what it would become,” says Josh of the film series. “It’s really cool to look back. We didn’t do it to be this massive thing for us we were just going to have fun on a movie.”

Getting involved opened lots of new doors, not least of all a chance for Williams to interview Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen in Twilight).

“I sat down with him and had a little candle lit interview,” she says blushing.

“It was really funny because they set it up as if we had known each other for years but we’d just met. I realised, we did the interview and it was kind of awkward and once we were out of the interview and we were just hanging out it was totally cool.

“It’s just strange that cameras and Hollywood stuff, it’s a new world for us – we’ve never been a part of it.”

I love Jacob and Bella’s relationship. It’s very different from Edward and Bella’s. Jacob and Bella start off as really good friends. They become best friends—they can tell each other anything, they do whatever together, ride motorcycles. I love that. And then their relationship starts growing into more and more, and you wonder if they’re going to go past friends. I love being able to do that. And work with an amazing actress, Kristen Stewart, and all of the help around us, our director Chris Weitz, the whole crew. It’s a lot of fun.

What will draw guys your age to New Moon?

There’s a lot more action than Twilight. It’s more exciting—it has werewolves and vampires, which creates fights because they don’t get along. Not only does the action step up, but the whole story line does as well. Now there’s a third person involved.

It’s been years since we’ve had a good werewolf film—it’s been vampires, then zombies, then vampires again. What’s awesome about werewolves?

They’re different. Werewolves are extremely strong, which is cool. But it’s a bummer because I don’t actually get to play my werewolf. It’s full-blown CGI; it’s either me or a CGI werewolf. So that’s a bummer, but I know they’re going to look awesome in the film. I’m excited to see it.

STEPHEN MOYER (VAMPIRE DIARIES) TALKS ABOUT ROB

If Twilight is the hottest vampire series in the big screen, then True Blood is its counterpart in the small screen. Both vampire franchise have British actors in their lead and both of their vampire counterparts fell for a human. But if Twilight are for teens, True Blood are for a more adult audience. But when True Blood star Stephen Moyer said something about Robert Pattinson back in June, he earned the ire of the Twilight fans. Now in a new interview with the The Telegraph UK, Stephen Moyer is careful in putting his words for Robert.

Hurricane Bells Interview

EW has an interview with Hurricane Bells. Steve Schiltz is the only member of Hurricane Bells and was found on his MySpace music page.

His song, Monsters, will be on the New Moon Soundtrack.

“Monsters” is one of several leftover songs that Schiltz recorded under the Hurricane Bells moniker when they didn’t work for his main band, Longwave. “It’s a little more rocky, up-tempo, than the stuff that’s on the Hurricane Bells MySpace page — it’s got some fuzzed-out guitar,” he says. Schiltz’s manager quietly got the tune placed on the New Moon soundtrack, keeping him in the dark until approximately last week. “I got an email from the director [Chris Weitz] saying that he wanted to use it as maybe the first song in the film, and I started kinda s—ing my pants!”

XAVIER SAMUEL INTERVIEW!

He is one of the new kids on the Eclipse set but Xavier Samuel has shown that he can held on his own. The young Australian actor already has a strong following of Twilight fans and is fast becoming a favorite. Xavier took some time to talk to Moviehole, where he talked about his role, being part of the Twilight Saga and filming his scenes. Here is an excerpt:

Question: Did you know anything about that particular franchise?

Samuel: To be honest, not really. Like, I watched the film on the plane. And at that stage, I hadn’t read the books, but I have now. I knew very little about it. I knew that it was extremely popular, and people kind of go crazy for it.

Question: Crazy is an understatement.

Samuel: Yeah. Like, you know, this notion of eternal love, and danger, and – you know, the thing that you love could kill you – that sort of stuff is, like – I guess it’s intoxicating for a lot of people.

Question: And you play a vampire in Eclipse?

Samuel: Newborn vampire.

Question: A newborn vampire. Do you do any research on something like this?

Samuel: Sleep in coffins at night, and stuff like that?

Question: Or look at classic horror films that explored vampire culture.

Samuel: I think that I’ve resisted that temptation, because the vampires, in Twilight, are very different. I think there’s a crucial element to portraying something like that is retaining some sort of humanity, and if you can do that, then hopefully it can work, in less of a stereotypical, clichéd kind of way.

Question: Do you have any kind of relationship with Kristen’s Bella? I mean, is there a bond of some kind that exists?

Samuel: That’s a tricky question to answer, without giving away the plot.

Question: There might be, or there might not be?

Samuel: That’s a valid statement. How am I doing evading it?

Question: You’re doing very well. David Slade is the third director associated with the franchise.

Samuel: Yeah, David’s astonishing.

Question: Now I was wondering whether or not he brings that kind of raw sensibility to this particular interpretation of Twilight.

Samuel: Well, he’s such an intelligent, very down-to-earth director. And from what I can gather, the way that he’s approaching shooting the film is quite different to the previous two.

Question: Now, is your character in any other books?

Samuel: In Eclipse. Yeah.

I like to box. I have a boxing area in the back yard with a couple of bags and I like to see my boxing coach when I’m in town. I have a pool in my back yard. I love to swim; I grew up swimming. I just love it; it’s the best exercise. I hate running but I’ll take my dog for a walk or we’ll go climbing boulders she has so much energy and that’s why I love her, because she pushes me and I push her.

When we’re up here (Vancouver) I’ve been gaining weight and lifting really heavy. We do fight training every other day that consists of jujitsu, kung fu, boxing, and kickboxing- just mixed martial arts to really prepare for our fight sequences. It’s intense. I’ve never had the small muscles that hold the big muscles so sore before.

Kellan Lutz continues to make the social round in LA as he was recently spotted attending HBO’s Luxury Lounge last Saturday. The Twilight actor is currently on a short break, attending events, before he will be heading back to Vancouver to shoot Eclipse.

In other Twilight news, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has once again said that Eclipse will be darker. According to the Twilight scribe, aside from the darker theme in the book, David Slade will also be a key factor in the darker tone.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will battle it out in this year at the Kids Choice Awards Australia. Both actors are nominated for Favorite Movie star along with Zac Efron and Rob’s former Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe. To vote, head over to Nick Australia . Voting will start tomorrow and will end on November 1st. The awards will be given out on Friday, November 13 at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne.

In an Emmy party, E! Online was able to talk to Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg where she dished out new details about New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. She also talked about Robert and Kristen, who were relentlessly being hounded by rumors regarding their relationship.

TWILIGHT IN FORKS: Screening in Forks

The documentary, “Twilight in Forks”, was screened recently in the town that started it all, Forks, Washington. Director Jason Brown and producer York Baur brought their film into town for a special screening at Forks High School. The event also coincides with the town’s annual Bella’s Birthday/ Stephenie Meyer’s Day festivities, which celebrates the character’s and author’s birthday on September 12 and 13.

During that weekend, Twilight fans engaged in various events such as a Saturday morning birthday breakfast to a tour of the local high-school to look-alike contest and authentic Quileute Indian Tribe storytelling.

Eclipse to be more guy friendly!!

The Twilight franchise has always been accused as more female-centric, as evidenced by its legion of female fans. But according to Ashley Greene, that may change with Eclipse. The actress revealed, in an interview with Access Hollywood, that director David Slade aims to make the film darker than its predecessors.

New photos of Rob, Kristen and Taylor on-set emerged yesterday. The Twilight trio were seen filming some scenes for Eclipse, whilst chatting up with the crew and each other during break. Taylor was seen riding a motorcycle with a Kristen stunt double, while Rob and Kristen were filming a scene at a parking lot.

Twilight Examiner is reporting that Robert Pattinson’s movie ‘Remember Me’ and Taylor Lautner’s movie ‘Valentine’s Day’ are going to be released on the same day, February 12, 2010.

Both films were shot with the Twilight actors during their off-time between filming New Moon and Eclipse and will be released on the same day – perhaps reanimating some of the Team Edward versus Team Jacob spirit?

In light of record numbers of Twilight admirers visiting the town this summer, Forks organizers have expanded Stephenie Meyer Day into a weekend starting Saturday, Sept. 12. They are bracing for what they predict will be the largest celebration yet of Twilight heroine Isabella Swan's fictional birthday, named in honor of the author of a bestselling four-novel vampire series set in Forks -- who will not attend. The event celebrating the Twilight saga drew about 1,000 fans in 2008 The official Stephenie Meyer Day is Sunday, Sept. 13 -- the date of Bella's birthday -- but Forks events will begin the day before. Planned for the weekend are $3 tours of Forks High School -- where the fictional Swan and her vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen attended school -- as well as plenty of music, a look-alike contest, group photographs, a bonfire at First Beach, a scavenger hunt, and of course, a birthday cake for Bella. The Twilight saga's impact on Forks can be seen by the registration book at the Forks Visitor Center. In August, the center had 13,605 guests, Mike Gurling, office manager, said. So far in 2009, about 55,600 people have been through the visitor center, he added. "That compares with the total number of visitors in 2008 of 18,736," he said. You know your story has made it big when people are making your characters out of corn! I found this over at Twilight Lexicon & had to look a few times to believe what I was seeing. Yup - that’s Jacob & Edward made out of corn with ‘New Moon 11/20/09″ written above Jacob.

According to Desert News, “Aerial photos show that two separate “Twilight”-themed maze patterns at Black Island Farms, 3178 S. 3000 West, have already been cut into the corn — a “Team Jacob” and a “Team Edward.” (In the movie, Bella can choose Edward or Jacob as her boyfriend.) The lettering “New moon 11-20-09″ is also a part of the maze.”

Reports have been confirmed that early tickets for New Moon have already been sold in some parts of the United States. Carmike Cinemas, a Georgia-based theater exhibitor operating in “small and midsized markets” has been offering advanced ticket sales to its customers.
