Michael Sheen appears on the Bonnie Hunt Show: kicks off Hunt’s Twilight Celebration series
Michael Sheen appeared on the Bonnie Hunt Show earlier today to kick off Bonnie Hunt’s week-long Twilight Celebration.
According to MTV.com, Sheen humorously recalls his 10-year-old daughter’s reaction to the news that he would be playing Aro in The Twilight Saga’s film adaption of New Moon.
When I first told her, we were eating some food and I said, ‘Look, I’m going to be in the next film. I’m going to play Aro.’ And she was lifting the food to her mouth and she froze, and I thought, ‘What is she doing?’ and a tear started rolling down her cheek. And I thought, ‘That’s nice. That’s exactly the reaction I want.’ And then she punched me.
The Bonnie Hunt Show’s Twilight Celebration continues all week long with the following scheduled appearances from the New Moon cast and soundtrack artists:
Tuesday: performance by Sea Wolf
Wednesday: Kellan Lutz, performance by Anya Marina
Thursday: Nikki Reed
Friday: Ashley Greene

Jamie Campbell Bower attends EA Children’s BAFTA Twilight actor Jamie Campbell Bower attended the EA Children’s BAFTA last Saturday night held at the London Hilton Hotel. The actor was seen catching up with his Harry Potter co-star Bonnie Wright at the event.
Jamie is currently filming his role in Harry Potter as Gellert Grindelwald. He has stated he has several more weeks to go before filming is complete for him.
Once again we see the worlds of Harry Potter and Twilight combine. First with Rob Pattinson and now with Jamie Campbell Bower.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2010 while Deathly Hallows 2 will be released July 15, 2011. Bower will be featured in both films.

New Moon crosses $200 Million point at the US box office Pulling in $17.9 million just yesterday, Variety is reporting that New Moon has now passed the $200 million mark at the US box office:
The domestic B.O. for “New Moon” easily eclipsed that of the first “Twilight” which amassed $192.8 million in 20 weeks.
In the first three days of the holiday frame beginning Wednesday, “New Moon” has grossed $41.4 million.
The record holder for the best Thanksgiving frame haul still belongs to the first “Harry Potter” which made $82.4 million from Wednesday through Sunday.

New Moon surpasses Twilight's box office record
HitFix has recently released an article regarding New Moon’s box office sales versus last year’s Twilight sales:
“After making another $14.3 million on Wednesday for a new U.S. total of $179 million, the question isn’t whether it will hit the $250 million mark it’s whether it can hit $300 million. Considering the first “Twilight” made only $192 million a year ago that would be a stunning achievement. The Chris Weitz blockbuster hardly skipped a beat leaving the frame’s three new wide releases far behind.”
As of today, New Moon has accumulated up to $188.4 million in the U.S. alone. Meaning New Moon will surpass Twilight’s full theatrical release of $192 million within a little over a week.

Chris Weitz talks about the DVD details for New Moon with MTV Summit is already preparing for the DVD release of New Moon to happen the first quarter of 2010. Here are some tid-bits that director Chris Wietz released to MTV about what fans can expect from the DVD extras.
"There will be a commentary track," Weitz revealed, saying that he'll soon head into the recording booth with his three big stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. "It'll just be us riffing off each other in our intimate way," he grinned. "We kind of like each other, so that should be fun."
"There will be probably about 20 minutes of deleted material," he explained, promising some meaty footage. "It really is good stuff and a bonus for the fans."

‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’ co-host confirms two-part Breaking Dawn?
Ryan Seacrest was broadcasting from the New Moon premiere in LA last Monday with one of his co-hosts, who accidentally said she heard Breaking Dawn will be two parts. Her source was – allegedly – the wife of a Summit executive she ran into at a nail salon.

Variety is reporting that the FX channel has struck a deal with Summit, which says the channel will have the cable rights to New Moon, Eclipse, and likely Breaking Dawn. Showtime already has the cable rights to Twilight (until 2011). From the article:
Deal between FX and Summit is standard in that pricetag will be 10%-12% of the domestic box office take, but with a cap.
Summit’s deal with FX also includes rights to well-reviewed Iraq war pic “The Hurt Locker,” as well as “Knowing” and “Push.”
“Twilight,” the first book of the series from Stephenie Meyer that was adapted into a film, earned $191 million when it was released a year ago. FX can begin airing the pic in late 2011.
The window for “New Moon” starts in late 2012, and “Eclipse,” which is scheduled for a June 30, 2010, theatrical release, will have its basic cable debut in 2013.

Harry Potter plays Edward Cullen on the Simpsons
...well sort of. Next season on the Simpsons, Actor Daniel Radcliffe, know for his portrayal of Harry Potter, will lend his voice to a Twilight spoof episode. The Harry Potter star plays Edmund, a kid vampire whom Lisa falls for. Alas, Edmund’s father, a.k.a. Dracula, and Homer try to squash the budding romance.

I can’t really choose just one. I love so many things. Bella’s and Edward’s first conversation in the parking lot…the painting…Jessica’s monologue…the scenes in Jacob’s garage…the first time you see the werewolves!!…Jacob in Bella’s room (thanks, Chris!)…the underwater moment…what you see while Thom Yorke’s amazing song is playing…everything in Italy…and I could go on. It’s all so good.
Hi Stephenie! Texas LOVES you!!! In staying true to the novel, I'd like to know if there were any scenes missing from the original screenplay that you insisted be in the movie?? Thank you SOOO much!!!! -Trinity in Fort Worth
Sort of. In the original screenplay, Jacob's visit to Bella's room that one night didn't exist. The necessary information was still there, it was just scattered through a few other scenes. I really missed that scene, but change (and cutting!) is a part of the adaptation process—especially when you write really long books—so I was prepared to suck it up. And then Chris Weitz felt like we needed that scene, too, and he wrote up a beautiful version I love. And we all lived happily ever after.
