Stephenie Meyer updated her website last night with a message about Haiti and a book recommendation.
- I’ve been very impressed with the world in general and the Twilight fansites in specific in the support and love everyone is giving Haiti. It’s amazing to see how Twilight fans have come together to help. You are wonderful people. At this point, I think it’s important for all of us to remember that the situation in Haiti is not going to be cured overnight, so… keep up the good work, and let’s all keep the Haitians in our thoughts and prayers.
- A new book recommendation: I recently read and adored The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. It was one of those books that feel absolutely perfect and satisfying, and when you finish it you sit around wishing that you could find another book just like it.

Last night TV.com hosted a live chat with Twilight Saga star Peter Facinelli. In it he talked about his roles on both Nurse Jackie and Twilight along with his inspirations as an actor.
Peter Facinelli: My inspriations were Paul Newman and Robert Redford - Saw a movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and those guys looked like they were having a lot of fun and I decided that's what I wanted to do
Now I like Sean Penn and what he's doing. Gary Oldman. I like to be surprised by an actor - you never know what you're going to get and they don't play the same role.

USA Today posted a new article online focusing on popular books in 2009. It reveals some interesting statistics related to the Twilight saga:
We have Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight vampires to thank, in part, for the fact that at least 17% of all book sales tracked in 2009 were related to vampires (and assorted other undead creatures, including zombies) or the paranormal (including paranormal romances). That was up from 14% in 2008, which in turn was way up from 2% in 2007.
Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, which are the inspiration for HBO’s True Blood, had nine titles in the top 100 sellers of the year, and P.C. and Kristin Cast, the mother/daughter team who write the House of Night series, had six. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith is No. 48 on the list. Expect that trend to continue in 2010, again thanks in part to Meyer. She may not have a new book coming out (that we know of so far), but Eclipse, the movie based on the third book in the Twilight series, swoops into theaters in June, and the paperback reissue of her 2008 adult hardcover The Host is out April 13.

As always when David tweets, Twilight fans read and re-tweet quickly. Today was no exception. Today's tweet unfortunately was bad news.
David issued a new tweet today that revealed the plan he had for a 'New Year's gift' was cancelled:
New Year’s gift was cancelled. Out of my hands unfortunately. I tried. On another note our edit is driving towards the finish line…
So we here at ECJ ask: Hey David, what about a Valentine's day gift then? Maybe an Edward and Bella kiss? Lets see what he says.

There have been reports that Stephenie and Summit are feuding over decisions related to the production of Breaking Dawn.
To address these rumors, Stephenie has updated her site today:
Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.

According to a article from LA Times, the Producer Wyck Godfrey plans for Breaking Dawn to begin filming in the fall,
Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the “Twilight” saga, admits that the creative team still doesn’t know how they’ll handle the character in the “Breaking Dawn” movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward — as either one or two installments — with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for “Breaking Dawn,” he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.

Pretty much everyone is following actor Peter Facinelli on Twitter these days. He recently told Access Hollywood that he has no plans to make his Twitter account commercial.
“It’s a great way to share information with them and it’s also a great way to entertain,” he said. “I like being able to put a smile on people’s faces and I like being able to also mix that up with sharing information with them that’s important and also letting them know what I’m doing. I mean I’ve had people come to me and say, ‘Hey, will you Tweet this out?’ There’s like paid advertisement stuff. I’m not into that. I like to keep my Twitter pure. I don’t want to sell my followers anything.”
You are not already following Peter you can by following this link.

Paramore’s “Decode” was a huge part of the Twilight soundtrack, but the band turned down an offer to be part of the New Moon soundtrack last year. In a recent interview with MTV, Hayley Williams, the band’s lead singer, explained why Paramore passed on New Moon and said contributing to the Eclipse soundtrack isn’t out of the question.
“We’ll see what happens in the future,” Williams said. “I don’t know — if it feels genuine. If we write a song, and I feel like it goes with it, I wouldn’t turn it down, but I wouldn’t force it.”
